Kate Sorenson is a Staff Attorney at Tuft, Lach, Jerabek & O’Connell, practicing in all areas of family law.
Prior to joining Tuft, Lach, Jerabek & O’Connell, Kate practiced exclusively in the area of family law at several Minneapolis-St. Paul law firms. Her previous roles allowed her to work as both the primary attorney, advocating for clients in contested hearings, as well as a staff attorney, completing complex research, discovery, and other projects to support attorneys and strengthen their cases. Kate found her niche in staff attorney work due to her commitment to thorough research, organization, and detail work. Kate believes that clear, effective communication is essential to successful advocacy.
Prior to entering private practice, Kate worked as a law clerk to a referee in Hennepin County Family Court. In that role, Kate experienced family court up close, working with pro se litigants and attorneys on a variety of case types and witnessed first-hand the importance of strong client advocacy.
During law school, Kate gained experience working for University Student Legal Services, providing legal services to University of Minnesota students. She also served as an Online Editor and the Alumni Relations committee co-chair for the Minnesota Law Review and was the head writer for the Theatre of the Relatively Talentless (T.O.R.T.).
Kate knows that families working through difficult legal issues need clear information and guidance from their legal team to achieve their goals, and she is dedicated to helping provide that clarity to her clients.
